The steps

Find it

  1. In the menu on the left, under MANUFACTURING, tap Logistics & Fleet. On a phone, open the menu with the button at the top left first.
  2. Tap Trips & PODs: every run, its stops, and the proof captured at each one.

Plan the trip

  1. Tap Plan trip, then Choose a date, pick the day, 8, and tap Select.
  2. Tap Northern suburbs and type Bellville and Durbanville as the route name.
  3. Under Vehicle, tap CA 418-291. Under Driver, tap Thandi Mokoena, then tap Save. The trip opens, ready for its loads.
  4. Tap Add a load, then Add beside a delivery note or pro-forma waiting to go. Each stop stays linked to its document's lines.
  5. Tap Start loading while the vehicle is packed, then Dispatch. The trip appears on the driver's phone.

Scenario: see where the vehicles are

  1. Tap Live map. It plots each vehicle from its driver's phone while Ledgr is open on a dispatched trip, with the live tracking add-on.
  2. Without the add-on no position is collected; an owner adds it under Settings, Billing & Plan. Tap Fleet board to see every vehicle's day either way.

Scenario: build the next run from what is waiting

  1. Tap Load planning. A delivery note or pro-forma raised in Invoicing waits here until it is on a trip.
  2. Tap Add to a trip… on one, then choose an open trip, or tap Plan a new trip for it.

Scenario: a new driver joins

  1. Tap Drivers. Each driver's licence and PrDP are listed with their expiry, and Ledgr reminds you before one runs out.
  2. Tap Add driver, then Full name and type Lwazi Khumalo, then tap Save. A driver needs no Ledgr login.
  3. Tap Issue link on their row. Ledgr shows the link once: send it to their phone, and it pairs that phone to their trips.

More detail is in the guide.

Check yourself

  1. Why add a stop from a delivery note instead of typing it by hand?

    • A typed stop cannot be signed for
    • Each stop line links to the document line, so a short delivery can be reconciled
    • It prints the delivery note faster

  2. When does a vehicle report where it is?

    • All day, through background location on the driver's phone
    • Only from a tracking box fitted in the cab
    • While the driver has Ledgr open on a dispatched trip, and you hold the add-on
