The steps

Find it

  1. Every screen is in the menu on the left. Under CORE, tap Banking. On a phone, open the menu with the button at the top left first.
  2. Tap Reconciliation. Every imported line waits here until it is matched to a document or a category.

Match a line to its document

  1. Tap Unmatched to see only the lines still to do. The ring above shows how much of the account is reconciled.
  2. Tap AI Match on a line to open Match Transaction for it.
  3. A payment from a customer is matched under SETTLE AN INVOICE: pick the invoice, and the payment is dated the statement's date, not today.
  4. Further down you can settle a bill instead, or post money with no document behind it, such as bank interest, to a category. Tap Close to leave it.

Scenario: the same debit order arrives every month

  1. Tap New Rule. A rule says what to do with every line whose description matches.
  2. Under WHEN, tap the box above Use | to separate alternatives and type NIMBUS NORTHWIND, the words on the debit order each month.
  3. Tap Choose a category and choose Cloud & Software.
  4. Tap Save Rule. Unless you ticked Run this rule on lines as they arrive, nothing is coded until you apply it.

Scenario: you want to see what your rules would do

  1. Tap Preview. Ledgr lists every unreconciled line each rule would code, the backlog included.
  2. Tap Apply to code them. A rule you got wrong costs you a preview, not an afternoon of unpicking.

Scenario: you want to reconcile a month against the statement

  1. Tap Start reconciliation. Check the opening and closing balances against the bank's statement first.

More detail is in the guide.
