The steps

Find it

  1. Every screen is in the menu on the left. Under CORE, tap Banking. On a phone, open the menu with the button at the top left first.
  2. Tap Import & Export. Every way of getting your bank into Ledgr is on this one tab.

Upload a statement

  1. Beside Account, tap Capitec Business Savings and choose FNB Business Account: the account this statement belongs to.
  2. Tap Choose a statement file and pick what your bank gave you: a PDF, OFX, QFX, OFC, QIF or CSV. Ledgr tells which from the file itself.
  3. Ledgr then shows a preview: rows read, how many are new, how many it already holds. Nothing is written until you tap Import.
  4. An overlapping month is safe: lines Ledgr already holds are skipped, from a PDF, a CSV or the same file twice. Tap Reconciliation to work the new ones.

Scenario: Ledgr cannot tell which bank the file is from

  1. Under Bank layout, tap Detect from the file and choose your bank's layout, then choose the file again.

Scenario: a CSV's columns come out wrong

  1. Beside Map the columns by hand, tap Show.
  2. Say which column is which, starting with Date, then the description and the amount, and whether the first row is a header. Ledgr remembers it for this account.

Scenario: your bank emails a statement every month

  1. On Expenses & Bills, open Inbox and tap Email-in address. Each of your companies has its own.
  2. Tap Copy and give the address to your bank. A statement imports itself when it was read in full and matches exactly one account; otherwise it waits for a click.

More detail is in the guide.
